Went to Amoy Street Food Centre for cze char (煮炒) at Level 2 Lu Tian (露天) last night. Despite the almost an hour waiting time for our food, I think it was worth the wait.
Its 排骨王 is so meaty yet the meat is so tender! I usually take some to eat the pork ribs that my mum cooks in soup at home (even when I hadn't had braces on), but this pork rib is so tender that I chewed it without any trouble. It looks a little like chicken meat though, given its size and thickness.

I actually forgot if the below is 五香 or prawn roll. Though it definitely looks like 五香. Haha. We saw quite a number of people eating this so we followed suit as well. No regrets on this one! Fresh out and dipped with the sweet sauce; really delicious.

The sambal kang kong isn't as spicy as I thought it would be, but somehow its spiciness tasted different - in a good way. It left me wanting to eat it again and again. Haha. Or probably it's how it was cooked with different ingredients - it just tasted differently from other sambal kang kong that I've tried before.

Last dish - chilli crayfish! We actually ordered this last after seeing the review from ieatishootipost.sg. This plate only cost $12! Superbly tasty that it can bring you to heaven. LOL.

And guess what. Our bill only amounted to $29 for these four dishes and three bowls of rice. Really, how cheap can it get! All of us were shocked with that amount when we heard it, and Dawn and I were still talking in disbelief after we left the place. Really worth the wait and value for money!
While we were settling our bill among each other, GuanJie had to give Dawn a 50cents change. And that coin landed in the plate of sweet sauce instead (which I didn't manage to capture it). Jane, being ever so helpful, helped to pick it up with chopsticks but fruitless. Then GuanJie joined in to help as well. So the both of them ended up "fighting" to pick up that coin, and Dawn's poor coin swam in the sweet sauce. When GuanJie actually succeeded in picking the coin up, Jane was laughing and happened to hit GuanJie's arm and plat! went the coin back into the sweet sauce. Haha. The coin was then rescued after some time and we washed it with Dawn's drinking cup (previously filled with green tea) below to collect the water. Too much laughter and plonk! went Dawn's coin into the cup (below), swimming again. Dawn was eee-ing the whole time during the "rescue the coin" mission. Haha.
Headed to TCC (The Gallery) at Boat Quay after dinner for our usual chit-chat.

HAPPY 22ND IN ADVANCE, JANE! (:
Sidenote: I got caught for jaywalking in the morning while rushing to driving lesson. Fine $20. Totally unlucky and sian. -.-
Watched My Sister's Keeper with YiLin, BoonPing and Eric last Wednesday after work.
The flashbacks were kind of distracting as they switch quite suddenly.
I think more girls would like watching this as compared to guys. Really an emotional movie. The scenes of undergoing chemotherapy and during relapse were so heart-wrenching.
Girls who haven't watch and want to, please prepare tissues. Even YiLin also couldn't take it. Haha.
My second 10K run last Sunday for the Great Eastern Women 10K! Successfully completed the run with almost the same time as last year's Nike+ Human Race. (:
Ran alongside with YiLin and her friend, Grace for 5K. As they were both track & field runners before, my poor short legs couldn't catch up with them after 5K. Haha.
The weather wasn't very good as the sun was shining so brightly along the F1 race track and drizzling at the same time. Totally zzz.
I so do not look like a runner standing in between the two of them. Not that I am one in the first place. Haha.
YiLin and I went for breakfast and we decided to try Yoshinoya's Chicken steak set meal as it looked good. But we got disappointment in return. Besides the long waiting time for the serving of the food, the serving size and quality of the food was totally not what we expected. Egg not done properly, baked beans portion looked like it's served for ants to eat, bread not up to standard and chicken 'steak' so BIG. The picture below tells it all.
I'm not a very big eater, but I was telling YiLin that I could go for a second round with that serving portion. -.- I'm just going to give Yoshinoya the benefit of the doubt that only Marina Square's quality is of substandard. I still prefer Long John's Silver breakfast of all the fast food restaurants. (:
Had the usual company fitness bootcamp last Friday and then the Halloween Party planned by YiLin and I! Crowd control wasn't that good, but everything else turned out okay except for the bad weather.
I wanna blog about happy things that happened these few days. In the office, with colleagues, at godma's house, seeing Ayden, talking to godma... But just one thing, one talk overshadowed all those good things.
As those bits and pieces of truth were released to me, not slowly but all at once and unexpectedly, the harsh reality unfolded in front of me that was initially hidden. I never thought things were that bad. I never expected those words and actions to be said and done. I never thought someone could really be so selfless, so considerate, so noble. Its impact was so hard and fast; it left me shaking in fear. Afraid that it will really happen soon.
Although I didn't get to hear the details of the truth, it was enough. Yes, honesty is the best policy. But sometimes, knowing the truth, not even whole, is scary. Reality is harsh; I think it's still better to know the truth earlier so that the reality won't come crashing down suddenly. At least there's time for mental preparation.
I wish I can run away, to escape from what I've learnt. But I know it neither solves nor prevents it from happening.
I will post the happy stuff when I recover...or maybe not at all.
And for now, I shall just try to concentrate on completing my individual assignment before the Wednesday dateline.
